Sighthill [EN]GAGE Extension
Please note that gym facilities will not be affected during the build, and classes will be running as normal. Access will also be maintained to all the school facilities.
Please keep checking back for important updates.
Update: Entrance and reception re-location
A temporary entrance and reception re-location for [EN]GAGE sport and fitness centre and the School of Life, Sport and Social Sciences and Sport & Exercise Science Labs began November 30th 2015. To access the new entrance please exit the main campus building through revolving doors beside Starbucks, then go left until you get to the accessibility ramp. Signage will be in place to help you.
More information on the build:
Over the next few months the build will comprise of formation of foundations, erecting the steel frame and internal reconfiguration works to existing [EN]GAGE reception. Check the staff intranet for more information and to see architectural drawings.
The property and facilities department are carefully planning works to minimise disruption and will specifically ensure there is zero impact during exam times.
Bike storage arrangements:
Anyone who used to use the bike shed beside [EN]GAGE is encouraged to use the covered secure bike storage and bike racks that are found at the front of the main building.
Please don't tie your bike to any fences or railings around the campus as the University may remove them if they are in the way!
Some disabled spaces have been taken up for this project but don't worry, arrangements have been made to make up for this loss, just contact security (0131 455 6119) and they will help.
Greenhouses and stores:
There are plans to build a more versatile, lab-orientated greenhouse on campus in the near future, this is in discussion between the University and the School of Life, Sport and Social Sciences. Also, new storage areas will be built as part of this project to replace the existing stores currently by [EN]GAGE.
Should you have any questions about the building work now, or as the project progresses, then please contact the Property & Facilities Helpdesk
and they will respond to your query as soon as possible.
