Your travel options for getting to campus

At Edinburgh Napier University we have three campuses at Craiglockhart, Merchiston and Sighthill, as well as our own student accommodation residences.

Free parking is not available on campus, but there are a variety of other ways to travel, including public transport and by bike. We’ve compiled some helpful guides on this page to get you where you need to go!

Travel guidance during Covid-19

If you need to travel to the University, please plan ahead. Visit Transport Scotland for the latest Scottish Government advice and up-to-date guidance on public transport and active travel.

However you travel, please ensure you are very clear of the facilities available and rules in place before you start your journey. Keep in mind that many public transport operators are running reduced services.

We are always happy to help with travel advice. If you’re looking for more information, please contact environment@napier.ac.uk.

Student Accommodation Travel

Our three accommodation sites at Bainfield, Orwell Terrace and Slateford Road are located in the city centre and are well-served by public transport. Lothian Buses offer a student ridacard which you can use on local buses and trams, making it an easy way to get from your flat to your campus.

There are also a number of cycle paths in the area and bike storage facilities on site.

Cycling to campus

At Edinburgh Napier, we want to support and encourage active travel as much as possible, whether you're walking, wheeling or cycling to campus.

Both Merchiston and Sighthill hold Cycle Friendly Campus awards and we offer a range of support to students who wish to cycle, including storage facilities, maps and route advice, temporary bike locks, repair and maintenance sessions and security marking.
