Graduation ceremonies to go ahead in October
We're delighted to announce our plans to return to in-person ceremonies for our autumn graduation celebrations.
Three ceremonies will take place over Wednesday 27 and Thursday 28 October at the Usher Hall. Every student graduating at the ceremony will have the opportunity to invite two guests to attend the special day.
While this is a huge step forward for the University, we’ll be proceeding with caution and taking the necessary steps to make sure all staff and students in attendance are safe and feel comfortable. We are planning these celebrations on the basis that Scottish Government Covid-19 restrictions continue to allow for events of this size to take place in October. If the situation changes, we will update you on any alterations to our plans.
These ceremonies will be the first we have held since October 2019 and the first with new University Chancellor Will Whitehorn, who succeeded Dr David Eustace earlier this month.
Attending a graduation ceremony is not compulsory and you can still choose to graduate in absentia if you prefer.
Graduations are the highlight of our year and the culmination of all your hard work, and we can't wait to see students crossing the stage again in October.
Further details around registering, ticketing, and graduating in absentia, will be released in due course, so please keep an eye on your email.
