Using our libraries off campus
These pages aim to help part-time and distance learning students based in the UK who don't visit our libraries in person.
You will find the information you need to get started in the Introduction to Computing and the Library. This covers both Library and IT information, and will take about 30 minutes to work through.
If you are studying overseas or new to the UK, see International students.
What can I access from home?
There are a number of Library services which you can access without visiting our libraries. You can:
- Use LibrarySearch to find ebooks or ejournal articles.
- Use the Postal Loans Service to have books posted directly to your home or work.
- Use University libraries closer to your home with the SCONUL scheme. See Using other libraries.
If you have any questions, please email us at: library@napier.ac.uk.
How do I use LibrarySearch off campus?
- Sign in to LibrarySearch
This will give you access to Library online resources.
- Limit your search results to Full Text Online
Enter your search words, and then use the filters on the right hand side under 'Tweak my results' to limit your search to only show ebooks and ejournals.
To learn more about the resources and databases for your subject, see Subject Guides.
If you are looking for material that is not held by our libraries, we may be able to request the item for you using Inter Library Loan.
