Using other librariesYou can visit and borrow material from other academic libraries, near to where you live or work by registering to use the SCONUL Access scheme.
This is a free scheme allowing full time postgraduate, part-time, distance and placement students to borrow material from other university libraries. Reference only access is also available for undergraduate full-time students.
The SCONUL Access scheme reopened on the 15 November 2021.
Not all libraries are participating in the scheme. Please read the updated guidelines for more information.

How to join SCONUL AccessVisit the SCONUL Access website for an online application and follow the simple steps set out there. When your application is approved by a member of Edinburgh Napier library staff you will receive a confirmation email containing details of visiting the libraries of your choice. Note: Any outstanding library fines should be paid before an application is made.
