A Masters Course takes 1-2 years and is a great way to dive deeper in to the subject that you studied at undergraduate level, or can be an opportunity to study a subject that is completely new, opening up new career opportunities.
A PG Cert usually takes about 4 months and Diplomas take about 9 months. They provide a route to a particular career or are used as a stepping stone towards a full Masters degree.
Research Degrees
A PhD (often referred to as a Doctorate) is usually embarked upon on completion of a Master’s degree although in some cases it is possible to start after only studying to Bachelors level.
Taking 2-5 years to complete, a PhD is a specialised research project and focuses on the production of a written thesis.
Professional Qualifications
There are a number of qualifications which are offered by professional bodies that are essential for various careers, such as the legal practice course to become a solicitor.
These are often qualifications that you can achieve whilst working and your employer can advise of the qualifications you are required to undertake to progress.
