Adobe Creative Cloud

The Adobe Creative Cloud (Adobe CC) applications (such as Photoshop and Illustrator) are available on the PCs in the student computer suites. They are delivered via the Software Center and installed locally.

The way you access the Adobe applications differ depending on whether the applications have previously been installed on the PC you are working on:

  • If the Adobe CC app has not already been installed on the PC then you can manually install the application from a Software Center.
  • If the Adobe CC app has been previously installed you can access them via AppsAnywhere

You'll find instructions below for both methods.  A more detailed version of the guidance with screenshots is available to download here:  Adobe Creative Cloud for students

Please note: Adobe CC is not available on personal student machines or Lapsafe laptops to loan

Adobe CC frequently asked questions

I am unable to open Acrobat DC from the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App, what do I do?

There is a known issue with Acrobat DC on some devices where it cannot be opened from the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App.  When the issue occurs Acrobat DC is listed as being installed but the open button is greyed out.

If you experience this issue you can try using Acrobat Reader as it is now capable of many of the functions that only Acrobat DC could carry out (e.g. signing documents).

If Acrobat Reader doesn’t meet your needs please contact the IS Service Desk – they will perform a fix on the device.  In the meantime you will be able to access Acrobat online by visiting:  https://documentcloud.adobe.com/.
