Finding newspapers

This page aims to help you find newspaper articles for your study or research. You can find newspaper articles on individual newspaper websites, but these sites often don't include all the articles in a newspaper or the archive of old articles.

Finding hard copy newspapers

The Library subscribes to a range of newspapers, with a few titles at most sites. Merchiston keeps a wide range of newspapers for a short period, especially for journalism students who are concerned with design and layout aspects that are lost in online formats. Newspapers are for reference only and can't be borrowed.

Use LibrarySearch to find out which campus library takes which newspaper. This will also indicate how long the back-run is for each newspaper, and what format it's stored in.

If you need access to older newspapers, you may need to access other Libraries in Edinburgh
