Generative AI and the Library
Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) tools are currently being added to Library databases and reference management software. While these tools can help with discovery, it is important to understand how to use them responsibly and critically in an academic environment. Tools may include AI-generated summaries or answers, suggested search terms or related topics/articles.
University Guidance
Before using any GenAI tools for your academic work, make sure you read the University’s guidance and advice on what is allowed for a specific assessment.
Do not rely on AI content as a key source and make sure you check the factual accuracy of content. For example, if you read an AI summary and want to use that article, make sure you follow the link through to the original journal article to read it.
