Claim your council tax exemption
Did you know most full-time students are exempt from paying council tax? We'll send your details to the City of Edinburgh Council after the start of the trimester if you are a registered full-time student and have an Edinburgh term-time address, so make sure your student record is up to date on eStudent records.
If you are asked to complete a council tax exemption form, you can download a Confirmation of Studies letter via eStudent records. This letter will confirm your name, date of birth, address, start date of your course, expected end date of your course and the year and level of study.
