Stay safe on nights out
Whether you're new to Edinburgh Napier or returning for another year, we want everyone to enjoy student life safely and responsibly.
While Edinburgh is generally a safe place to live, work and study, it is important to look after your personal safety and be aware of steps you can take to reduce risks to your health and wellbeing, especially on a night out.
Although most people associate drink spiking with drugs, alcohol is the most common substance used to spike drinks, as it can be added to a soft drink without you knowing, or double measures can be used instead of singles.
You can look out for your friends by keeping an eye on their drinks and making sure they’re not left alone. If you start to feel strange or more drunk than you should be, get help immediately.
We've put together a collection of resources you might find helpful, including information on drugs, alcohol and sexual safety: Student safety at Edinburgh Napier.
Have a great start to the academic year, and take care of yourselves and each other.
