Welcome Week

Your Welcome Week activities consist of a variety of events to introduce you to some of the opportunities you'll have at Edinburgh Napier. It lets you know what to expect on your course and will also include fun activities which will allow you to meet fellow students and prepare you for the start your studies.

All the details about your Welcome Week calendar will be available here a few weeks before the start of the trimester.

Course inductions

Course inductions will be included in Welcome Week and it is essential you attend these. You will meet your lecturers and find out about the course, learn how to access computers and libraries, find about student health and safety and much more.

  • You and your course – We'll provide you with all the information you need to understand what you'll learn on the course. You'll also get to know each of your classmates through some fun ice breaker activities.
  • Getting ready to study your course – We'll ensure you're fully prepared to start your course. You'll find out your reading list and we'll arrange for you to collect any equipment you may need for your studies.

All areas of the University are working together to create a programme of activity to help you get settled into Edinburgh Napier University. Our induction activities will give you all of the information you need to get started, along with opportunities to network, explore, contribute and settle into university life.

Check out your personalised timetable

My Timetable is where you will find the details of all timetabled teaching events, whether on campus or online. You can access your timetable via your Office365 Calendar, My Account and from My Napier.

The benefits of your individual timetable are:

  • You only see the classes you attend so you don't have to look through the full programme information
  • It is available on a mobile device and via Office 365 calendars
  • You will receive up-to-the-minute changes to your timetabled activities such as a room change

If you're a new student, remember you must complete the registration process and choose any optional modules before you will be able to access your individual timetable. It can take up to five working days for your individual timetable to be fully available.

You will have, on average, nine hours of taught classes per week. Classes are taught on Monday to Fridays during the day, and you may find that you have classes over several days of the week. Your timetable may be different from your friends' because you've chosen different modules, or you have different tutorial sessions.

ENSA’s Welcome Week

Every year, Edinburgh Napier Students’ Association (ENSA) organises a week packed with fun social events for new and returning students.

Activities include themed parties, speed friending, club nights, cultural tours and the Welcome Fair. These events offer a great way to explore the city, make new friends and settle in to University life.
