Care experienced students
Information for care leavers.
Have you spent time in care?
Edinburgh Napier University encourages applications from students who have previously been cared for by a local authority; in residential care, foster care, kinship care (cared for by friends or relatives), or at home under a care order. We offer the individualised support of a Student Adviser, from pre-entry advice through to support during your time at the University.
If you disclose your time in care in the UCAS application form, we will contact you with details of the support available at Edinburgh Napier. If you agree, contact will be maintained with you throughout your time at university.
This support includes:
- guaranteed year-round accommodation
- help to access available bursaries (Edinburgh Napier students who can evidence their time in care can apply for a Care Experienced Bursary of up to £1000 per year of study), grants, or other forms of funding; and a range of on-campus support to help you adjust to university life
