  Services from home

What can I access from home?

There are a number of Library services which you can access without visiting our libraries.

You can:
  • Use LibrarySearch to find books and e-books.
  • Access thousands of journals articles online.
  • Use the Postal Loans Service to have books posted directly to your home or work.

Postal Loans Service

The Postal Loans Service is for students studying part time, distance learning or on University Work Placement who have difficulty visiting Edinburgh Napier University libraries in person. You can request books online using LibrarySearch, and these will be sent to you via Royal Mail.

Renew books

Most of our books and other loans automatically renew up to a maximum of 4 months unless recalled (see our Automatic Renewals page) If an item on loan to you is requested by another user we will recall it by sending you an email asking you to return it within 7 days or by the due date if less than 7 days.

You can check the items you have on loan and due dates by signing in to LibrarySearch and using My Library Card.

You can still renew loans yourself, see Renew books

Search for journal articles and more online

You have access to journal articles, newspaper articles, market research reports, company financial accounts and technical standards.

To get started, see Finding Ejournals & Newspapers.
To find out more about the databases for your subject, see Subject Guides

If you are looking for material that is not held by our libraries, we may be able to request the item for you using Inter-Library Loan
