New assistive technology equipment available

Information Services and the Disability Inclusion team are delighted to announce new assistive technology equipment available for loan from all three campus libraries.

Available equipment includes:

  • Noise-cancelling Bluetooth headphones
  • Ambidextrous vertical mice
  • Ergonomic keyboards
  • Extra-large keyboards
  • Laptop riser stands
  • Coloured Overlays in 10 different colours

We also now have extra-large widescreen monitors in each campus library. They've been located with discretion in mind so visually-impaired students can use them with screen magnification and not worry about being overlooked.

This new kit is for everyone. You might have forgotten your own headphones one day. You might want to try a different kind of keyboard before you make your own purchase. You might want to use a laptop riser to make hot-desking more comfortable. Whatever your reason, please make use of the new stock.

You can see what's available by searching the library catalogue for 'equipment'. To make things easier to find, narrow your search results by clicking on 'Format' on the right-hand side and select 'Equipment'.

These new loans come as part of the Disability Inclusion team's review of our assistive technology provision. Our aim is to widen the range of what we have available and to make it easier for everyone to access. Please let us know if there is additional hardware you would like to see available to borrow.
