Edinburgh Napier’s Student Futures team are a dedicated group of employability experts. We are committed to helping our students by providing second to none career support to enhance their professional development and help prepare them for the world of work. The team are split into four key strands: Career and Skills Development, Placements, Graduate Recruitment, and Industry Insights.


Our Career and Skills Development team offer a range of services such as one-to-one career guidance and larger group workshop sessions where we can support you with a range of activities including building and enhancing your CV, mastering job applications and refining your interview technique.

Our Placements team can support you with finding a relevant work placement to enhance your degree experience. They look after all stages of this process - from help with your initial applications, to ensuring you are fully prepared for your placement.

The Graduate Recruitment Team help make sure that you are seen as key emerging talent by employers; whether that’s through supporting you to gain a part time role on arrival to the University, a summer internship to help build your experience or a graduate opportunity as you come to the end of your degree.

Our Employer Engagement team are dedicated to building strong relationships with local, national, and international employers in order to provide you with access to key industry insight activities and events.

Our Student Futures Career Hub resource give you instant access to a wide variety of interactive digital careers and placement support tools, all tailored to your school.

As a Next Generation Inclusive University, we have partnered with EmployAbility, an organisation supporting individuals who have a specific learning difficulty, mental health condition or another disability, with all aspects of graduate employment.  Their service can provide you with individualised advice and support about adjustments for recruitment and the workplace, information about your rights, and support you with job applications. The EmployAbility team will also advocate for you with an employer to ensure you receive the adjustments you need, taking any stress and anxiety out of the process.
