

First aid training - stop the bleed
Learn a valuable life-saving skill with a one-hour training course that will teach you how to control and stop a life-threatening bleed.
We are delighted to welcome Professor Tim Hodgetts, who will deliver a hands-on training in bleeding control techniques. Tim is a retired army surgeon general who has completed many military tours across the world delivering live saving procedures during conflict. He has used this experience to encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives.
During the one-hour session, you will learn the following skills:
- How to stop a simple bleed
- Recognise life-threatening bleeding
- Stop a life-threatening bleed by packing the wound, applying pressure and improvise a tourniquet
