A message from the Chaplaincy
The University is deeply saddened by the passing of Pope Francis, the 266th leader of the Catholic Church.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to everyone within our community and beyond who is mourning his loss. As the first Latin American and Jesuit pontiff, and the first to take the name Francis, he was often referred to as the People’s Pope – known for his humility, compassion, and commitment to justice.
We recognise that this news may be particularly difficult for some members of our community. The University’s Chaplaincy is here to offer pastoral and spiritual support to students of all faiths and none.
In particular, our honorary chaplains at St Albert’s Catholic Chaplaincy provide dedicated support to Catholic students from all of the universities in Edinburgh, including Edinburgh Napier.
St Albert’s is located at 23–24 George Square and further details are available from their website.
