Help shape the future of Dundee Street and Fountainbridge

Exciting changes are coming to Dundee Street, Fountainbridge, and the surrounding area – and the City of Edinburgh Council needs your input.

The Council is planning improvements to make walking, wheeling, and cycling safer and more enjoyable. These upgrades will create vibrant, people-friendly streets and offer a great alternative to the busy Union Canal path.

Whether you cycle to uni, walk to work, or just want better public spaces, this project is about making everyday travel easier, greener, and more connected – linking key places like the Telfer Subway, Gibson Terrace, Roseburn, the Meadows, and beyond.

It's all part of the Council's bold vision for a sustainable, low-carbon neighbourhood through the Fountainbridge Regeneration Masterplan.

Come along to one of the upcoming pop-up events:

  • Saturday 25 October on Fountainbridge Green from 11am-5pm (weather dependent)
  • Tuesday 28 October in Bainfield common room from 10.30am-1.30pm
  • Wednesday 12 and Wednesday 19 November in Fountainbridge Library from 1pm-6.30pm

Meet the project team, check out the plans, and share your thoughts. If you can't make it, you can view the proposals and give feedback online at Dundee Street Fountainbridge Active Travel Project.

The consultation is open until 12 January 2026.
