Breast cancer awareness talk
Tuesday 20 May, 12pm-1pm
Delivered by Breast Cancer Now, this session will raise awareness around breast cancer facts and figures, the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, importance of early detection, how you can help reduce your risk, and the myths and misconceptions around breast cancer.
Dementia masterclass: Let's talk about dementia
Wednesday 28 May, 1pm-2pm
We will learn what dementia is and the different types, signs and symptoms, including young onset dementia, caring for someone with dementia, risk factors and reducing the risk of getting dementia. Delivered by Dementia UK, this session may be of interest for students who help care for a relative with dementia or wish to learn more generally.
Harm reduction with Crew 2000
Tuesday 10 June, 1pm-2pm
We are pleased to welcome Sarah Peat from the harm reduction charity Crew2000 as she talks us through the current drug trends, how to recognise the signs of a loved one taking drugs and how we can support our friends and family. This session may be of interest for students who want to learn how to reach out for support.
Sleep clinics
A limited number of 45-minute sleep clinic appointments with a behavioural sleep consultant are available across all three campuses in June.
