Update your eduroam Wi-Fi settings now

The security certificate that allows devices to connect to eduroam (the University's secure Wi-Fi service) will be replaced on Wednesday 17 December at 5pm. If you use your own laptop, tablet or phone to access the Wi-Fi, you may need to update the eduroam settings on your device to make sure you stay connected after this change.

What you need to do now

If you are using a personal laptop, phone or tablet to connect to University Wi-Fi:

  1. Go to the eduroam Configuration Assistant Tool (CAT): cat.eduroam.org
  2. Download the installer and follow the on-screen steps to complete the update.

If you previously created your own custom eduroam profile, you can manually install the new root Certificate Authority (CA).

Users with University-managed laptops

If you use a laptop managed by Information Services, the update will be applied automatically and you do not need to take any action.

Further guidance on connecting to eduroam is available on the IT Support page.
