Time to Talk Day - start a conversation about mental health

Being a student comes with deadlines, life changes, friendships, pressures, loneliness, and everything in between. Taking the first step to talk about how you're feeling can make a huge difference, and you don't have to do it alone.

Thursday 5 February is Time to Talk Day - a moment for all of us to reach out and talk openly about mental health.

Counselling & Mental Wellbeing

Our Counselling and Mental Wellbeing team offers a range of free, confidential support to help you through your time at Edinburgh Napier. Whether you're struggling with stress, anxiety, relationships, or just feeling overwhelmed, there's someone to talk to.

You can contact the team by emailing counselling@napier.ac.uk or calling 0131 455 2459 to start a self-referral. Appointments are available face-to-face, online or over the phone.

What's available?

  • One-to-one counselling (up to five sessions)
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Single Session Therapy for specific concerns
  • Mental health advice and practical support
  • Mindfulness sessions to help you stay grounded and calm

You'll be listened to in a supportive, non-judgemental space, and if you need something extra, the team can help connect you with other services.

Talk anytime with Togetherall

Not ready for face-to-face support? Togetherall is a free, anonymous online community where students can connect 24/7.

On Togetherall you can:

  • Share what's on your mind without using your real name
  • Join conversations with others going through similar experiences
  • Access self-help courses on stress, sleep, anxiety and more
  • Use tools like a private journal and wellbeing resources
  • Get support from trained professionals who help keep the space safe and welcoming

It's a great way to talk in your own time, day or night, and can complement other support you might use.
