Student Experience in the School of Health and Social Care
Caroline, Jenny & Kev are the Student Experience Team in the School of Health & Social Care. Our job is to make sure you have a positive, well-supported and successful time while here studying with us.What do we do?
- Offer 1-2-1 support for any student in the School (Talk to us about what’s on your mind, we’ll listen and take you seriously)
- Provide volunteer opportunities for students to support anyone new to the School (Get involved in a range of activities to support your peers and make a difference)
- Arrange events and activities to boost your sense of community and belonging here (Make the most of your time at the University...make friends, learn loads and have fun!!!)
If you want to find out more about the different opportunities available or just want a chat about how things are going just now, then we’d love to hear from you anytime.
Contact us on SHSCsupport@napier.ac.uk and we’ll get right back in touch.
Please note that this service is only available to students in the School of Health and Social Care. If you are from another School and want to talk to someone then you can contact your PDT, ENSA Advice or any of the other teams within Wellbeing and Inclusion.
Kev Head - Student Experience Manager (SHSC)
I oversee the team which means offering support to Caroline and Jenny, while also making sure that it’s running well to meet the needs of students right across the School of Health & Social Care.As I am one of the Adult Nursing Programme Leads, I don’t generally meet with Nursing students in a 1-2-1/support capacity. But I’m totally available to meet with students from any of our other programmes. So, if you’re a midwifery, OT, physio, social work (or other postgrad) student then get in touch and we may well get the chance to meet and talk more soon.
Jenny Smith - Student Experience Adviser (SHSC)
I offer 1-2-1 confidential support appointments to students of the School. I can offer a space for students to speak about whatever they may be experiencing, either in or outside of the university. I can also connect students with various support services within the university, advise on programme continuation options and offer support wherever possible to make their time at the university as great as it possibly can be.As well as this I am also involved in the facilitation of peer support within the school, identifying ways and means of connecting more senior students with first years, to share their experiences and top tips!
Caroline Cavaye - Student Experience Coordinator
I act as the first point of contact for the Student Experience Team within the School of Health & Social Care. I support students by answering general enquires and arranging 1-1 appointments with our advisers.
We offer a confidential service and can support students with any difficulties they may be facing, academic or personal.
