Student working on a computer within the JKCC

Computers on campus

We have computers available for you to use on each of our 3 campuses in the dedicated computer suites as well as the campus libraries.

In these areas you’ll find Windows PCs, thin client PCs and Apple Macs, as well as spaces for you to plug in your own devices.  You can even borrow a laptop from one of our Lapsafe lockers.

Multi-function devices (MFDs) enable you to print, copy and scan - these can be found in each of the computer suites and campus libraries.

The Jack Kilby Computer Suite (JKCC) is open 24/7 during trimesters 1 and 2.  Staff are available to answer questions at the JKCC helpdesk from 9am - 5pm, Monday - Friday.  They are also available 10am - 4pm on Saturday (trimesters 1 and 2 only).

Visiting our computer suites

You do not need to book a computer in the JKCC, Younger Suite or the main part of the libraries, however a booking still needs to be made for open-access computers at Craiglockhart and Sighthill.  Bookings can be made via Resource Booker which has a full list of bookable computers and spaces.

When you come on to campus bring along your student card as you may need it to access the computer suites.

Once you’re at a computer you can log in using your Edinburgh Napier student number and password.
