My name is Hannah Awcock.
My name's Lorrae Fox.
I'm Tayo Oluwadare.
I'm Angus Sutherland, I'm an academic skills adviser.
Hannah: The academic skills team is here to support students with any and all of the skills that they need to do well in their degree and in their future lives and careers.
Lorrae: We offer support of any stage of the writing process, right from sort of like helping with free writing and idea generation way into researching and helping with finding sources, reading academic reading and reading challenging texts like journal articles things like that. So, strategies around how to figure all of that out.
Angus: We offer individual advice. We have one-to-one appointments throughout the academic year. We also offer drop-in sessions on a more ad-hoc basis and we do a lot of group work, so quite often you might see us appearing in the classroom working on various things with you.
Tayo: We are here to support our students throughout their academic journey, so not just when deadlines or exams are approaching. It's a good idea though to seek advice earlier on so that they can build their skills and confidence over time.
Angus: The best way to get in touch would be just to go to our My Napier pages which are pretty easy to find, If you can't find us that way then you can always email us at academicskills@napier.ac.uk.
